Warranty Overview

Lowcountry Limited Warranty

Lowcountry Knives warrants its knives against defects in materials and workmanship under normal and intended use.

If a knife is determined to have a manufacturing defect, Lowcountry Knives may, at our discretion:

  • Repair the knife.
  • Replace the knife.
  • Provide another appropriate solution.

This warranty applies to the original purchaser and does not cover damage caused by misuse, abuse, accidents, improper maintenance, unauthorized modifications, or normal wear and tear.

What the Warranty Covers

Our warranty may cover genuine issues involving:

  • Manufacturing defects.
  • Material defects.
  • Blade or handle defects present under normal use.
  • Manufacturing-related failures.

Each warranty claim is reviewed individually.

What Is Not Covered

The warranty does not cover damage resulting from:

  • Normal wear and tear.
  • Improper use or abuse.
  • Using the knife as a pry bar, screwdriver, chisel, hammer, or other tool for which it was not designed.
  • Improper sharpening or sharpening damage.
  • Rust or corrosion caused by improper care or storage.
  • Unauthorized modifications or alterations.
  • Disassembly of the knife.
  • Damage caused by accidents or impact.
  • Scratches, cosmetic wear, or changes caused by normal use.
  • Lost or stolen knives.
  • Damage caused by improper storage, cleaning, or maintenance.

Blade & Handle Care

Proper care helps keep your Lowcountry knife performing at its best.

Keep your knife clean and dry after use. Do not place your knife in a dishwasher. Avoid prolonged exposure to moisture, saltwater, chemicals, or other corrosive environments.

For knives with carbon-containing steels, regular cleaning and a light protective oil can help prevent corrosion.

Sharpening & Maintenance

Knives are designed to be sharpened and maintained throughout their service life.

Damage caused by improper sharpening, excessive material removal, power tools, or incorrect sharpening techniques is not covered under warranty.

When sharpening your knife, use a method appropriate for the blade steel and maintain the original cutting geometry as closely as possible.

Disassembled or Modified Knives

Disassembly or unauthorized modification of a Lowcountry knife may void the warranty.

This includes:

  • Changing internal components.
  • Altering the blade.
  • Drilling or modifying the handle.
  • Changing the locking mechanism.
  • Unauthorized refinishing or grinding.

If your knife requires service, contact Lowcountry Knives before attempting repairs yourself.

Warranty Claim Process

To begin a warranty claim, contact our customer support team with:

  • Your name and contact information.
  • Order number or proof of purchase.
  • Knife model.
  • Description of the issue.
  • Clear photos and/or videos showing the problem.

Our team may request additional information or ask you to return the knife for inspection.

Inspection & Evaluation

Once we receive a knife for warranty inspection, our team will evaluate the reported issue and determine whether it is covered under this warranty.

If the issue is determined to be a manufacturing defect, we will provide an appropriate warranty solution.

If the issue is not covered, we will contact you with the available options before proceeding with any chargeable service.

Shipping for Warranty Service

Customers may be responsible for shipping the knife to Lowcountry Knives for inspection unless otherwise stated.

If the claim is approved under warranty, Lowcountry Knives will determine the appropriate return shipping arrangement.

Please package your knife securely and ensure that the blade is properly protected before shipping.

Safety & Shipping Instructions

Before sending a knife for service:

  1. Clean the knife and remove dirt or debris.
  2. Secure any fixed blade inside its sheath.
  3. Protect the blade so it cannot move freely inside the package.
  4. Use a sturdy shipping box rather than a regular envelope.
  5. Include your order information and warranty claim details.
  6. Use a trackable shipping service and retain your tracking information.

Do not send loose or improperly packaged knives.
